Drawings 1878-1923
Drawing of the first Indian students who came to Hampton Institute from Fort Marion. They include works of the following artists: Bear's Heart (1851-1882); White Horse (1847-1892); Koba (1848-1880); Etahdleuh (1856-1888); Zotom (1853-1913); Squint Eyes (1851-1932); Wohaw (1855-1924); Cohoe (1853-1924); Howling Wolf (1850- 1927); Making Medicine (1844-1931); Little Chief (1854- 1923); Nick (1855-1879); Packer (1851-1883); Roman Nose (1855-1917); Tounkeuh (1858-1912); White Bear (1852-1891); and Tsadeltah (1847-1879). Mention should be made of the three portfolios of Colonel Thomas Loraine McKenney of The McKenney- Hall Portrait Gallery of American Indians (1836) and individual prints.
