Description:
Veterinarian and educator. Dr. Patterson received his D.V.M. in 1923 from Iowa State College and his Ph.D. from Cornell University in 1932. He has been president of the Tuskegee Institute since 1935. He was a member of the Southern Education Board, Executive Board of the National Urban League, a trustee of the Phelps-Stokes Fund and the Bethune Cookman College, a member of the Phi-Kappa-Phi and Alpha-Phi-Alpha Fraternities. Dr. Patterson has been a member of the Board of Trustees of Hampton Institute since 1942.
